Friends,
As most of you know, Reverend Victoria will be leaving VIUU July 31 to accept a full time position with University Unitarian Universalists.. Our community was able to celebrate her time with us, say thank you, goodbye and to wish her the best as she goes forward.
It has been good for us having a part-time minister, and Reverend Victoria brought many gifts and skills with her. It is generally assumed that VIUU will look for a new part time minister and we –the congregation-want to take the necessary time to be thoughtful and thorough. The Board will be coordinating the formation of a 5 person search committee to conduct a search process.
An important first step is getting your input. You are invited to participate in a congregational community meeting/discussion at Lewis Hall on Tuesday July 15th from 3:30-5:00 PM at Lewis Hall.
This is an opportunity for us to look carefully at what qualities and skills will most benefit VIUU at this time. We want to base this on our goals and dreams for the congregation, our current needs and strengths. Our budget will allow us to bring someone in at approximately 10 hours per week. What will be our priorities for how this valuable time is used? What is different now than when we conducted our last search two and a half years ago?
Please do come if you are able. If you cannot come, you are most welcome to submit your input in writing and can send it to Runa to pass on.
Sincerely,
Robbie Rohr
For the VIUU Board
