Discussion on Racism begins January 4

The Vashon Island Unitarian Fellowship is sponsoring a free 4 week virtual discussion group, Systemic Racism: Uncover Your Biases.  TED talks will be shown followed by group discussion. Co-facilitators are Tanya Roberts, VIUF,  & Cathy deSmet, Vashon SURJ.  All Vashon is invited, teen-adult.  Please join us! The discussion group will meet on Mondays in January, via Zoom, 6:30-7:30 pm, beginning Jan 4th, 2021.

3) “How to Overcome Our Biases? Walk Boldly Towards Them” – Verna Myers, American activist and a diversity, equity and inclusion educator

4) “How Studying Privilege Systems Can Strengthen Compassion” – Peggy McIntosh, an American feminist, anti-racism activist, scholar, speaker, and Senior Research Scientist of the Wellesley Centers for Women.
