Music Service commemorating the 70th anniversary of Vashon Island Unitarian Universalists

It so happens that our theme for this month is “Embracing Possibility” and isn’t that what this congregation has been about from our beginning?

Today as we celebrate our 70 year history in many different ways, we will be doing a lot of the celebrating through music. We will sing for the Chalice Lighting as we begin and we will be singing for the Chalice Extinguishing as we close.

We are so pleased to have Mark Wells, Jean Richstad, Dan Brown, and Leslie McMichael with us –  and our valiant drummers here to greet you when you arrive. I hope you’ll all sing along when your parts come up.

Some of the songs we’ll be singing are by Unitarians, some by Universalists, some by “Free Thinkers”, some are chosen for those who are “Questioning, Doubting and Uncertain” and some songs we will be singing just because we like them.

On a different note, this service will also include “A Remembrance of Those Who Have Gone Before” given by Ann Lewis. For loss is part of each life and has been part of the story of this congregation as well.
