We are proud to introduce Ann-Charlotte (Lotta) Gavel Adams, our resident Troll expert. Lotta, retired UW professor of Swedish Literature knows a lot about Trolls. Some are fun and some are scary, and all are interesting.

Lotta Gavel Adams is Emerita Professor of Scandinavian Studies at the University of Washington in Seattle, where she for 30 years taught courses on Nordic literature and culture, with special emphasis on drama, women writers and children’s literature. She held The Barbro Osher Endowed Chair in Swedish Studies at the University of Washington. She is a member of Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History, and Antiquities in Stockholm. Her primary research areas and passions are literature and the arts, which she sees as reflecting the heart and soul of the culture and the societies, in which they were created.

She is a Vashon resident since 1995.
