Kiya Bodding took her last ferry ride from Vashon this week, passing peacefully on August 1, 2023. She was unconflicted, in good awareness, and accepting.
Kiya’s life was full of many interests, including videography and documentary production. She knew auto body work and used to be a panel beater. Kiya led workshops on laughter, including one at our VIUU Seabeck retreat. She enjoyed ecstatic dance and improv, walking and water walking along Burton beach. She would sleep outdoors in the summer and loved hot springs. Kiya loved looking forward to what the next day would bring.
Kiya will be remembered as surprising, brave, independent, and appreciative. Her spirit and creativity will be missed at VIUU. She wished for a memorial outdoors surrounded by trees and for singing Blue Bloat Home. The date is yet to be determined.
